ENACTMENT NO. 1 OF 1983 ISLAMIC FAMILY LAW ENACTMENT 1983
PART III - MARRIAGE AND REGISTRATION
Section 18. Marriages which cannot be registered.
A marriage which contravenes the provisions of this Enactment shall not be registered under this Enactment:
Provided that a marriage which has been solemnised contrary to the provisions of this Part but is otherwise valid according to Hukum Syarak may be registered under this Enactment on the order of the Chief Registrar or the Court.
