Section 18. Marriage at Malaysian Embassies etc. outside Malaysia.

(1) A marriage may be solemnized under this Enactment by a Registrar appointed under section 20 (4) at the Malaysian Embassies or High Commissions or Consulate if the Embassy, High Commission or Consulate does not inform the Malaysian Government of its objection to the marriage:

Provided the Registrar is satisfied that-

(a) one or both parties to the marriage is a resident or domicil of this State; and

(b) each party has the capacity to marry under the provisions of this Enactment.

(2) The procedure for the solemnization and registration of a marriage under this section shall be the same as that applicable to a marriage solemnized and registered in the State under this Enactment.
