Section 54. Saving for Appeal Committee.

Before the Syariah Appeal Court is constituted under section 40, the Appeal Committee constituted under the 1965 Enactment shal remain with all the powers of the Syariah Appeal Court under this Enactment and the persons who, before the commencement of this Enactment, were Chairman and members of the Appeal Committee shall be deemed to be Chairman and members of the panel respectively of the Syariah Appeal Court until the expiry of the term of thier appointment or a Syariah Appeal Court is constituted, whichever is the earlier.
