PART II - ADMINISTRATION



Section 6. Appointment of Registrar of Marriages and Divorce.

(1) His Royal Highness the Sultan may appoint any person he thinks fit, by name or office, as the circumstances may require, to be the Registrar of Marriages, Divorces and Revocations of Divorce for any mukim masjid as may be set out in the letter of appointment.

(2) The Chief Qadhi and every Qadhi shall be the Chief Registrar of Marriages, Divorces and Revocation of Divorce by title of office for the whole areas in which they have jurisdiction.

(3) The Imam tua for every mosque shall be the Registrar of Marriages, Divorces and Revocation of Divorce by title of office for the mukim masjid.

(4) His Royal Highness the Sultan may by notification in the Gazette appoint any diplomatic officer of Malaysia in any country, whether by name or office, to be the Registrar of Marriages, Divorces and Revocations of Divorce for the purposes of this Enactment in that country.
