Section 53. Settlement of maintenance.

Any agreement to pay with cash or any other property, the principal in settlement of the total future maintenance shall not be effective unless approved or if approved, subject to conditions imposed by the Court and if the Court approves the agreement such agreement shall be a sufficient defence to any claim for maintenance.
