Section 10. Declaring to leave the religion of Islam for any purpose

Any person who declares that he has left the religion of Islam, whether orally, in writing or in any other manner, for any purpose commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding five thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to whipping not exceeding six strokes or to any combination thereof.
