Section 175. Vacancy in the post of Chief Imam, Imam, Khatib, or Bilal.

(1) Whenever a vacancy occurs in the post of Chief Imam, Imam, Khatib, or Bilal for any mosque, other than a post in the public service of the State, the Commissioner shall take steps to get a suitable candidate to fill the vacancy after consulting the Fatwa Committee.

(2) Where the vacancy is in the post of a Khatib or Bilal for any, or is for a mosque other than a mosque where Friday prayers may be held, the Commissioner may appoint a suitable person to fill the vacancy and may at any time revoke the appointment.

(3) Where the vacancy is in the post of a Khatib or Bilal for any mosque, or is for a mosque other than a mosque where Friday prayers may be held, the Commissioner may appoint a suitable person to fill the vacancy and may at any time revoke the appointment.
