Section 178. Examination of judgment debtor.

(1) On the day fixed for the hearing of a judgment debtor summons, the Court may examine the judgment debtor and other witness on affirmation.

(2) If the judgment debtor is not present on the day fixed for the hearing of the summons, the Court may-

(a) order that he be arrested and brought to the Court to be examined; or

(b) make an order under subsection (3) against the judgment debtor.

(3) The Court may order the judgment debtor to pay the judgment debt either-

(a) immediately in lump sum or within such time as may be fixed by the Court; or

(b) by such instalments payable within such period as may be fixed by the Court.
