PART IV - SYARIAH COURTS

Section 55. Establishment of Syariah Courts.

(1) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the Majlis, may by notification in the Gazette constitute Syariah Subordinate Courts for the State of Penang at such places as he considers fit.

(2) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the Majlis, may by notification in the Gazette constitute a Syariah High Court for the State of Penang.

(3) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the Majlis, may by notification in the Gazette constitute a Syariah Appeal Court for the State of Penang.

(4) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the recommendation of the Chief Syarie Judge, may prescribe in writing a code of ethics which must be observed by all Syarie Judges and Syariah Appeal Court Judges.
