Section 44. Appointment of Judges of the Syariah Appeal Court

(1) The Yang di - Pertuan Agong may, on the advice of the Majlis, appoint for a period not exceeding three years not more than seven Muslims Appeal to constitute a standing panel of judges and the Court. Chief Syariah Judge shall select two from amongst them to form a quorum of judges in the Syariah Appeal Court in respect of every hearing.

(2) The names of the seven members shall be published in the Gazette.
