(1) Any person who does an act preparatory to the commission of illicit intercourse shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding three thousand ringgit or imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both.

Explanation 1 - Any male person who, in any place, found living or cohabiting with or in retirement with or hiding with any female person who is not his mahram other than his spouse giving rise to suspicion that they are committing vice commits an offence under this section.

Explanation 2 - Any female person who, in any place, found living with or cohabiting with or in retirement with or hiding with any male person who is not her mahram other than her spouse giving rise to suspicion that they are committing vice commits an offence under this section.

Explanation 3 - Any male person who is found together with more than one female person who is not his spouse or his mahram in a deserted place or in a room of any building or in a separate place in circumstances which may arise suspicion that they would commit vice commits an offence under this section.

Explanation 4 - Any female person who is found together with more than one male person who is not her spouse or her mahram in a deserted place or in a room of any building or in a separate place in circumstances which may arise suspicion that they would commit vice commits an offence under this section.

(2) The Court may order any female person found guilty of an offence under this section be committed to any rehabilitation centre for a term not exceeding two years
