Section 59. Defying the directive of the Religious Authority.

Any person who defies, breaches, objects or insults the powers and commands of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar as the Head of the Religion of Islam, directive of the Majlis or the fatwa issued by the Mufti shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or imprisonment to a term not exceeding one year or to both.
