Section 100. Appointment of Pegawai Masjid.

(1) For every mosque in the State of Selangor there shall be appointed one or several Pegawai Masjid.

(2) For every mosque that is determined by His Royal Highness the Sultan after consulting the Majlis, the Pegawai Masjid, be appointed from amongst members of the State public service or joint service or any other person.

(3) For every mosque that is not determined under subsection (2) the Majlis shall appoint a fit and proper person to be the Pegawai Masjid.

(4) The Pembantu Pegawai Masjid of the mosque may be appointed by the Majlis from time to time to assist the Pegawai Masjid.

(5) Upon the commencement of this section, every person who, immediately before the commencement of this section, was thePegawai Masjid or Pembantu Pegawai Masjid appointed under the previous Enactment shall be deemed to have been duly appointed under this section to be the Pegawai Masjid or Pembantu Pegawai Masjid respectively of the mosques and shall, subject to section 102, continue to hold office as the Pegawai Masjid or Pembantu Pegawai Masjid of such mosque.
