ENACTMENT NO. 3 OF 1982 ADMINISTRATION OF THE SYARIAH COURT ENACTMENT 1982
PART II - ADMINISTRATION
Section 7. Appointment of Qadhi, Penyelia Ugama and Court Registrar.
(1) His Royal Highness the Sultan after consultation with the State Service Commission or the Promotion Board of the State Service as the case may be, may appoint by instrument under His sign manual and seal:
(a) Chief Syariah Judge, Judge of the Syariah High Court, and so many Judges of the Syariah Subordinate Court and Qadhi;

(b) Ketua Penyelia Ugama, so many Penyelia Ugama, Penolong Penyelia Ugama and Pembantu Penyelia Ugama;
(c) Pendakwa Syarie and so many Timbalan Pendakwa Syarie;
(d) Chief Registrar of Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah, Registrar of Syariah High Court and so many Assistant Registrar of the Syariah Subordinate Court;

(2) All appointments under sub-section (1) shall be notified in the Gazette.
(3) His Royal Highness the Sultan may from time to time grant, alter, restrict or revoke any letter of appointment made under sub-section (1) of this section and may restrict the exercise of any of the powers which would otherwise be conferred by this Enactment or any other written law.
(4) Save as aforesaid, the jurisdiction, and powers of Chief Syariah Judge, Judge of the Syar'iah High Court, Judge of the Syariah Subordinate Court and Qadhi shall be such as are conferred by this Enactment or by any other written law.
