Section 36. Printing of religious books contrary to Hukum Syarak.
(1) Whoever, without any lawful reason, prints, publishes, issues, gives, circulates, exhibits, distributes, sells, or imports exports or has in his possession any book, record or tape of sound, letter, document, film, video tape or any other like material which is contrary to the Hukum Syarak or the customs of the Malays or any fatwa issued under the Administration of Muslim Law Enactment 1963, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding five thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to both.
(2) The Court shall order any book, record or tape of sound, letter, document, film, video tape or other like material which is the subject of the offence under sub-section (1) to be destroyed or otherwise disposed of as the Court thinks fit.
