DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE

Section 45. Extent of power to make any order.

Save as is otherwise expressly provided, nothing in this Enactment shall authorize the Court to make an order of divorce or an order pertaining to a divorce or to permit a husband to pronounce a talaq except—

(a)

where the marriage has been registered or is deemed to be registered under this Enactment; or

(b)

where the marriage was solemnized in accordance with

Hukum Syarak

; and

(c)

where the residence of either of the parties to the marriage at the time when the application is presented is in the State of Selangor.
