ADMINISTRATION OF THE SYARIAH COURT ENACTMENT 1982

PART III - JURISDICTION OF SYARIAH COURT

Section 8. Constitution of the Courts and their jurisdiction.

(1) His Royal Highness the Sultan may by notification in the Gazette constitute:

(a) the Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah;

(b) the Syariah High Court;

at such places deemed necessary and may prescribe the local limits of jurisdiction of such courts.

(2) The Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah Court shall have Jurisdiction throughout the State.

(3) The Syariah High Court shall have jurisdiction throughout the State and shall be presided over by the Judge of the Syariah High Court.

(4) The Syariah Subordinate Court shall have jurisdiction throughout the State and shall be presided over by Judge of the Syariah Subordinate Court.
