MAJLIS AGAMA ISLAM SELANGOR



Section 21. Summoning of meetings.


(1) Meetings of the Majlis shall be held with such regularity that not more than three calendar months shall have elapsed between one meeting and the next.

(2) All meetings of the Majlis shall be summoned by the Secretary.

(3) The Chairman may at any time direct the Secretary to summon a meeting.

(4) Any four members of the Majlis may at any time in writing require the Secretary to summon a meeting of the Majlis on condition that they inform the Secretary the purpose for which they desire the meeting to be summoned.

(5) The Secretary shall summon a meeting within fourteen days from the date of receipt of the direction under subsection (3) or the requirement under subsection (4).

(6) At least seven days notice in writing shall be given of any meeting, but the Chairman may, if he considers that there is urgent need to summon a meeting at shorter notice, direct that the requirement of seven days notice be dispensed with.

(7) Notice of a meeting may be sent by post, facsimile or Email.

(8) A notice sent to a member by post shall be addressed to his last-known place of residence and shall be deemed to have been served in due course of post.

(9) A notice sent to a member by facsimile shall be sent to the facsimile number given by the member in writing to the Secretary and shall be deemed to have been received by the member when the call back code is received by the Secretary.

(10) A notice sent to a member by E-mail shall be sent to the E-mail address of the member given to the Secretary in writing and shall be deemed to have been received by the member if the relevant mail administrator informs that the mail has been successfully delivered or if there is no information from the mail administrator that the mail has not been successfully delivered.

(11) No notice of meeting shall be necessary in the case of a member who is for the time being outside Malaysia.
