Section 49. Derogating, etc. of verses of the Al-Quran or Hadith.

Any person who derogates, insults, derides or put in contempt either in words or acts the verses of the Al-Quran or Hadith shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding five thousand ringgit or to an imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to both.
