Section 104. Jawatankuasa Kariah and Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Masjid.

(1) The Majlis may, with the approval of the Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan make regulations for—

(a)

the establishment of a

Jawatankuasa Kariah

for a

kariah masjid

;

(b)

prescribing the manner in which the members of the

Jawatankuasa Kariah

shall be appointed or terminated; or

(c)

prescribing the functions of the

Jawatankuasa Kariah

; and

(d)

the establishment of a

Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Masjid

, its appointment and termination and the functions of the

Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Masjid.

(2) The Jawatankuasa Kariah of a kariah masjid, or a Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Masjid, as the case may be, in conjunction with the Pegawai Masjid, shall—

(a)

be responsible for the proper conduct and good order of the mosque and all Muslim burial grounds within the

kariah masjid;

(b)

be responsible for the good conduct of the

ahli kariah

in matters relating to the religion of Islam;

(c)

give due and prompt information to the Majlis of all matters arising in the

kariah masjid

that require the attention of the Majlis; and

(d)

to control the management of every

surau

in the

kariah.

(3) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Enactment, the Majlis may, for the due administration of the Masjid or for any other reasons as may be prescribed by regulations made under this Enactment—

(a)

establish a

Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Masjid

for a

kariah masjid

; or

(b)

revoke the establishment of a

Jawatankuasa Kariah

for a

kariah masjid

and in lieu thereof, establish a

Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Masjid

with whatever terms and conditions as it deems fit and proper.
