Section 27. Failure to attend Friday prayers.

(1) Every mukallaf, who in the absence of any keuzuran syarie, fails to perform Friday Prayers three times consecutively at a mosque or other place where it is held, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both.

(2) Keuzuran Syarie exists for a person if-

(a) his attendance is prevented by heavy;

(b) he is ill and is not resident in the mukim masjid in which he then is;
