PART VI - MOSQUES
Section 93. Appointment of Mosque Officials.
(1) For every mosque in the State of of Pahang there may be appointed an Imam, Khatib, Bilal and Siak.
(2) The Imam, Khatib, Bilal and Siak shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of the Penal Code.
(3) The Imam, Khatib and Bilal shall be appointed by the Majlis from among persons who are deemed qualified by the Majlis.
(4) Upon the commencement of this section every person who immediately before the commencement of this section was the Imam, Khatib, Bilal and Siak of a mosque appointed under the 1982 Enactment shall be deemed to have been appointed under this section to be the Imam, Khatib, Bilal and Siak respectively of the mosque and shall, subject to section 96, continue to hold office as such.
(5) The Majlis shall keep a register of all Mosque Officials for every mosque in the State of Pahang and it shall be the duty of the Imam to promptly inform the Majlis of any vacancy or change in the particulars in respect of his mosque.
