PART VII - CONVERSION TO THE RELIGION OF ISLAM



Section 80. Capacity to convert to the religion of Islam


For the purpose of this Part, a person who is not a Muslim and has not attained the age of eighteen years may convert to the religion of Islam if he is of sound mind or his parent or guardian consents to his conversion.

In this Part, unless the context otherwise requires-

“Committee” means the Islamic Religious Teaching Supervisory Committee established under section 81;

“Chairman” means the Chairman of the Islamic Religious Teaching Supervisory Committee;

“Secretary” means the Secretary of the Islamic Religious Teaching Supervisory Committee;

“tauliah” means the tauliah issued under subsection 81(3).
