Section 6. Termination and revocation of appointments of Mufti and Deputy Mufti
(1) The appointment of a
Mufti
and Deputy
Mufti
may be terminated or revoked at any time by His Royal Highness the Sultan.
(2) The appointment of
Mufti
and Deputy
Mufti
shall terminate-
(a) on his death; or
(b) if he, by letter addressed to His Royal Highness the Sultan through the
Mufti
if he is Deputy
Mufti
, resigns his appointment.
(3) His Royal Highness the Sultan may revoke the appointment of
Mufti
or Deputy
Mufti
if-
(a) his conduct, whether in connection with his duties or otherwise, has been such as to bring discredit on his appointment; or
(b) he has become incapable of properly carrying his duties; or
(c) he has conducted against the State’s interest; or
(d) he has been declared bankrupt.
