PART III - THE APPOINTMENT OF THE MUFTI, AUTHORITY IN RELIGIOUS MATTERS, THE FATWA COMMITTEE AND FATWA RELATING TO MATTER OF NATIONAL INTEREST
Section 38. A fatwa published in the Gazette is binding.
(1) Upon its publication in the Gazette, a fatwa shall be binding on every Muslim in the State of Perak Darul Ridzuan as a dictate of his religion and it shall be his religious duty to abide by and uphold the fatwa, unless he is permitted by Hukum Syarak to depart from the fatwa in matters of personal observance, belief or opinion.
(2) A fatwa shall be recognised by all courts in the State of Perak Darul Ridzuan of all matters laid down therein. In the event there are differences in fatwas on the same matter, the fatwa last issued shall prevail.
