PART VII - MOSQUES AND SURAU

Section 87. Establishment of mosques and surau.

(1) The Majlis mat at any time--

(a)

permit a building to be erected for use as a mosque

and surau

;

(b)

permit the use of any building as a mosque

or surau

; or

(c)

prescribe any

surau

madrasah

or other building to be a mosque.

(2) The Majlis shall not give its permission or make a prescription under subsection (1) unless the site of the building to be used as mosque or surau has been made a wakaf in perpetuity.

(3) The Majlis may, by notification in the Gazette, determine or alter the boundaries of any kariah masjid.
