PART X - PROCEDURE IN CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS
Section 205. Sentence of imprisonment.
(1) Subject to section 207 immediately after the sentence of imprisonment has been pronounced the Court shall issue a warrant of commitment against the offender with the direction to the officer in charge of the nearest prison to carry out the sentence. If there shall be no sufficient time to send the convicted person to the prison as stipulated in the warrant of commitment he may be temporarily detained in the nearest police lock-up on the authority of the said warrant until he is transferred to the prison.
(2) Every sentence of imprisonment shall commence from the date the sentence is pronounced unless the Court passing the sentence otherwise directs.
