Section 73. Collection for charities.
(1) The Majlis may collect, or by permit authorise any person to collect, monies or other contributions for any charitable purpose for the benefit of Muslims, in accordance with Muslim Law.
(2) In relation to a permit granted under sub-section (1) it shall be deemed to be a term of such permit that the grantee thereof and every other person authorised thereby to collect monies or other contributions shall-
(a) issue in respect of any monies or contributions so collected a serially numbered receipt in the prescribed form;
(b) keep true accounts of all sums so collected and of the disposal thereof with all proper vouchers;
(c) produce on demand by the Majlis the counterfoils of such receipts and all such accounts and vouchers for inspection and audit;
(d) apply and dispose of all sums so collected in accordance with the terms of such permit or, if no method of disposal thereof is expressly authorised in the said permit, pay and account for the same to the Majlis.
(3) Monies collected under this section may be applied for such purpose as the Majlis may direct or, where there is no such direction, shall be added to and form part of the Fund.
