THE WHIPPING RULES 1987
Rule 2. Interpretation.
In these Rules unless the context otherwise requires-
"rattan" means a rattan measuring one metre in length and one centimetre in diameter;
"whipping" means the hitting with rattan by the officer specially authorised by the prison authority.
