THE WHIPPING RULES 1987




Rule 10. Examination by medical officer.

(1) No whipping shall be done unless in the presence of a medical officer professing the Islamic religion and has certified that the accused is healthy and fit to receive the strokes.

(2) If during the execution of the whippings the medical officer certifies that the accused can no longer receive the strokes it shall then stop.

(3) If the medical officer certifies that the accused is not healthy, actions under rule 11 shall be taken.
