THE WHIPPING RULES 1987




Rule 11. Whipping by lighter rattan.

Subject to the provisions of rules 10 (2) and 10 (3), if the whipping is not be able to be done partly or wholly, the accused shall be detained or discharged on bond until the Court which passed the sentence revised the report of the medical officer who examined the accused and the Court shall decide whether to wait for the accused to recover, if there is hope of recovery or if there is no hope of recovery, to carry out the whippings:

Provided that the rattan used on the accused who has no hope of recovery is lighter and smaller than the one prescribed under rule 6.
