SYARIAH COURT CIVIL PROCEDURE (SULH) RULES 2007

Rule 2. Interpretation.

In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires-

“Enactment” means the Syariah Court Civil Procedure Enactment 2002 [En. 7/02];

“Administration Enactment” means the Administration of the Syariah Court Enactment 1982 [En. 8/82];

“Judge” or “Syariah Judge” means a judge appointed under paragraph 7(1)(a) of the Administration Enactment;

“Chief Syariah Judge” means a the Chief Syariah Judge appointed under paragraph 7(1)(a) of the Administration Enactment;

“Registrar” has the same meaning assigned thereto in the Administration Enactment;

“hearing” means any proceeding in open court or in chamber or at any place prescribe by the Chairman;

“Chairman” means a chairman of the Majlis Sulh mention in subrule 5(1);
