In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires-
"advocate and solicitor" has the meaning assigned to it in the Legal Profession Act 1976;
"Chief Registrar of Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah" means the Chief Registrar of the Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah appointed under paragraph 7 (1) (d) of the Enactment;
"Committee" means the Peguam Syarie Qualifying and Discipline Committee established under rule 3;
"Court" or "Syariah Court" means the Syariah Subordinate Court and the Syariah High Court for the State of Kelantan constituted under paragraph 8 (1) (c) and (b) of the Enactment respectively;
"Enactment" means the Administration of the Syariah Court Enactment 1982;
"examination" includes oral test;
"Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah" means the Mahkamah Rayuan Syariah for the State of Kelantan established under paragraph 8 (1) (a) of the Enactment;
"Majlis" means the Majlis Agama Islam Dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Kelantan established under the Council of the Religion of Islam and Malay Custom, Kelantan Enactment 1994 [En. 4/94];
"Peguam Syarie" means a person who is admitted as a Peguam Syarie under rule 8;
"Pendakwa Syarie" means the officer appointed as such under paragraph 7 (1) (c) of the Enactment;
"Register" means the Register of Peguam Syarie referred to in rule 13;
"Sijil Peguam Syarie examination" means the examination conducted under rule 7;
