PART V - PUNISHMENT
Rule 40. Deferment of salary movement.
(1) Punishment of deferment of salary movement may be imposed by the Disciplinary Committee for periods of-
(a) three months;
(b) six months;
(c) nine months: or
(d) twelve months,
as the Disciplinary Committee deems fit and proper.
(2) Punishment of deferment of salary movement imposed on an officer or servant shall be executed on the next anniversary of the salary movement of the officer or servant after the date of imposition of the punishment by the Disciplinary Committee.
(3) An officer or servant upon whom the punishment of deferment of salary movement is imposed shall not be entitled to receive any salary movement for and during the period in which the punishment is in force.
(4) Punishment of deferment of salary movement shall have the following consequences:
(a) the date of salary movement of an officer or servant upon whom the punishment is imposed shall be altered to the nearest date of salary movement after the expiry of the period of punishment; and
(b) the date of salary movement shall remain at the date altered under paragraph (a) until the officer or servant reaches the maximum of his salary grade.
