Procedure In Cases Where Officer Or Servant Is Absent Without Leave And Cannot Be Traced




Rule 31. Forfeiture of emoluments for absence.

(1) Where an officer or servant has been found guilty of being absent from duty without leave or without prior permission or without reasonable cause, all emoluments for such period he is absent shall be forfeited notwithstanding that the Disciplinary Committee may not have ordered such forfeiture.

(2) An officer or servant who is forfeited of his emoluments under this rule shall be notified In writing regarding the said forfeiture.

(3) For the purpose of this rule, forfeiture of emoluments is not a disciplinary punishment within the meaning of rule 38.
