PART I - PRELIMINARY

Rule 2. Interpretation.

In these rules unless the context otherwise requires-

"Enactment" means the Islamic Family Law (State of Penang) Enactment 1985;

"Chief Registrar" means a Chief Registrar of Muslim Marriages, Divorces and Ruju' appointed under section 28 of the Enactment;

"Registrar" means a Registrar of Muslim Marriages, Divorces and Ruju' appointed under section 28 of the Enactment and includes a Deputy Registrar and an Assistant Registrar; and

'''Marriage Certificate" means a Marriage Certificate issued by a Registrar or Assistant Registrar including a Marriage Card issued by the Chief Registrar.
