(STATE OF PENANG) RULES 1997

PART II - ADMINISTRATION OF QARYAH MASJID

Rule 3. Jawatankuasa Qaryah and Pegawai Masjid.

(1) Each mosque shall be administered by a Jawatankuasa Qaryah and Pegawai Masjid.

(2) The Jawatankuasa Qaryah shall consist of-

(a)

a Chairman;

(b)

a Deputy Chairman;

(c)

a Secretary;

(d)

a Treasurer; and

(e)

nine other members, including at least two representatives for women.

(3) The Imam, Khatib and Bilal of each mosque shall be ex-officio members of the Jawatankuasa Qaryah of the mosque.

(4) The members of the Jawatankuasa Qaryah and Pegawai Masjid shall each be appointed and given a tauliah by MAINPP.

(5) MAINPP shall appoint two Auditors for each qaryah.

(6) MAINPP may, from time to time, issue directions to the Jawatankuasa Qaryah and Pegawai Masjid of a qaryah masjid on the administration and other matters pertaining to the mosque and its qaryah, including meetings held under these Rules, and such Jawatankuasa Qaryah and Pegawai Masjid shall comply with such directions.
