PART IV – FUNCTIONS OF JAWATANKUASA QARYAH AND PEGAWAI MASJID

Rule 12. Duties of Treasurer.

In addition to the duties provided in Rule 28, the Treasurer of a Jawatankuasa Qaryah for a qaryah masjid shall-

(a)

attend every meeting ofthe

Jawatankuasa Qaryah

of the mosque;

(b)

together with the Chairman or, in the absence of the Chairman, together with the Secretary sign all cheques issued on behalf of the mosque;

(d)

receive all monies paid or given to the

Jawatankuasa Qaryah

for such

qaryah masjid

and issue receipts therefor;

(e)

control, supervise and accept monies of charitable collection and donation for the mosque's fund;

(f)

make such payments as may have been approved by the meetings of the

Jawatankuasa Qaryah

and prepare proper and valid payment vouchers therefor;

(g)

prepare a Financial Statement in the book provided by MAINPP and present it in every meeting of the

Jawatankuasa Qaryah

and submit it to MAINPP;

(h)

in the course of carrying out his duties, comply with any instructions issued by MAINPP or JAIPP on the financial management of mosques in Penang;

(i) prepare a financial statement for the mosque for the current financial year and present it in the annual general meeting and prepare estimates of income and expenditure for the next financial year;

(j)

accept and comply with any directions issued by the MAINPP or JAIPP or by the Chairman of the

Jawatankuasa;

and

(k)

open and manage one bank account for the financial fund of the mosque or apply for approval from MAINPP to increase more than one account.
