PART III - SELECTION OF JAWATANKUASA QARYAH

Rule 7. Vacancy in office.

(1) Every Chairman and member of a Jawatankuasa Qaryah of a qaryah masjid shall cease to hold office upon-

(a) his death;

(b) his resignation in accordance with subrule (2);

(c ) his removal from office in accordance with subrule 33(1); or

(d) subject to subrule 5(2), his attaining the age of 65 years.

(2) A Chairman or member of a Jawatankuasa may resign his office by giving a written notice of his resignation to MAINPP and the resignation shall take effect from the date MAINPP receives such written notice.

(3) MAINPP may appoint another person to fill the vacancy in the office of a Chairman or any member of a Jawatankuasa Qaryah who ceases to hold office under subrules (1) and (2)

(4) A person appointed under subrule (3) shall only hold office for the duration of the remainder of the term of office of the Chairman or member of the Jawatankuasa who ceases to hold such office.
