PART V – BUREAUS

Rule 21. Establishment of bureaus.

(1) To ensure that the Jawatankuasa Qaryah of each qaryah masjid is able to perform its duties efficiently, the Jawatankuasa Qaryah may establish the following bureaus-

(a)

wakaf

development and economic bureau;

(b)

dakwah

and education bureau;

(d) youth affairs bureau;

(e) women affairs bureau; and

(f) other bureaus it deems fit.

(2) Each bureau established for a Jawatankuasa Qaryah shall be headed by a member of the Jawatankuasa Qaryah for the qaryah masjid appointed in a meeting of the Jawatankuasa Qaryah.

(3) The head of each bureau established for a Jawatankuasa Qaryah may appoint not more than six anak qaryah of the mosque to be members of the committee for the bureau to assist the bureau in carrying out its duties.

(4) The term of office of every member of the committee for a bureau shall not exceed the term of office of the Jawatankuasa Qaryah by whom the bureau is established.

(5) Each member of the committee for a bureau shall cease to hold office upon-

(a)

his death;

(b)

his resignation;

(c)

his removal from office in accordance with Rule 33;

(d)

his ceasing to be

anak qaryah

of the mosque;

(e)

termination of the term of office of the

Jawatankuasa Qaryah

by whom the bureau is established.

(6) For the purpose of subrule (2), a person appointed to be the head of a bureau may not be appointed to be the head of any other bureau.

(7) The head of each bureau established in a qaryah masjid shall-

(a)

preside over each meeting of the committee for the bureau;

(b)

report all decisions of the meeting at the meeting of the

Jawatankuasa Qaryah

for its approval; and

(c)

carry out all programmes of the bureau which has been approved by the meeting of the

Jawatankuasa Qaryah.
