PART III - SELECTION OF JAWATANKUASA QARYAH

Rule 5. Qualifications to become members.

(1) No person is qualified to be nominated as a member of a Jawatankuasa Qaryah for a qaryah masjid unless he-

(a)

is not less than 21 years but not more than 65 years of age;

(b)

is permanently resident in the

qaryah masjid

for a period not less than 3 months;

(c)

has Islamic religious knowledge;

(d)

is of good conduct and trustworthy;

(e)

has leadership ability.

(f)

is interested, ready to serve and struggle in upholding the

syiar

Islam;

(g)

does not hold any office in any committee in any other

qaryah;

(h)

is fit physically and mentally; and

(i)

frequently performs

soalt berjemaah

in the mosque or

surau

in the

qaryah.

(2) Notwithstanding paragraph (1)(a), MAINPP may appoint a person who is more than 65 years of age to be a member of a Jawatankuasa Qaryah on such conditions as MAINPP deems fit.
