Rule 6. Selection Committee
(1) The Majlis shall appoint a Selection Committee to conduct oral or written tests or both over the candidate or candidates whose name/s has/ have been submitted by the Pegawai Tadbir Agama.
(2) The Selection Committee shall be headed by the Mufti and shall consist of not more than 6 other persons as members to be appointed by the Majlis.
(3) The Selection Committee shall certify the candidate or candidates who has or have been successful in the tests to the Majlis and recommend a qualified candidate
to be appointed for a kariah masjid and state the reasons for its recommendation for consideration of the Majlis.
(4) The Majlis may consider the candidate recommended by the Selection Committee and if the Majlis agrees with the recommendation of the Selection Committee, shall certify the appointment of the candidate to obtain consent of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan.
(5) Notwithstanding subrules (1), (2), (3) and (4), the Majlis may consider the candidate whose name has been submitted by the Pegawai Tadbir Agama and if the Majlis agrees with the name submitted by the Pegawai Tadbir Agama, shall certify the appointment of the candidate to obtain consent of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan.
