PART IV - MEETING PROCEDURE OF THE JAWATANKUASA KARIAH
Regulation 16. Meeting of the Jawatankuasa Kariah
(1) All meetings of the Jawatankuasa Kariah shall be summoned by the Secretary on the direction of the Chairman. Nevertheless, the Religious Administration Officer may, in particular circumstances, direct any Jawatankuasa Kariah to convene a meeting. Any Jawatankuasa Kariah which does not comply with the direction of the Religious Administration Officer under this subregulation, commits an offence under these Regulations.
(2) The Chairman may at any time direct the Secretary or any other member of the Jawatankuasa Kariah to summon a meeting.
(3) If the Chairman is absent or unable to act due to illness or other causes, in any meeting, the Deputy Chairman shall preside over the meeting.
(4) If the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman are absent from the meeting, the members present shall elect one of them to preside over the meeting.
(5) The Jawatankuasa Kariah shall meet at least once within three months.
(6) All decisions of meeting of the Jawatankuasa Kariah shall be made by consensus or by resolution of the majority members who are present and entitled to vote and if there is equal number of votes, the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman or the member presiding over the meeting, as the case may be, shall have the casting vote.
