PART II - JAWATANKUASA KARIAH

Regulation 5. Membership of the Jawatankuasa Kariah

(1) The Jawatankuasa Kariah shall consist of the following members:

(a) a Chairman;

(b) a Deputy Chairman;

(d) an Assistant Secretary;

(e) a Treasurer;

(f) a representative from youth group;

(g) two women representatives;

(h) if exist more than one masjid in a

kariah

, one representative of the masjid that has not been made a

Jawatankuasa Kariah

;

(i) a representative from every

surau

in a

kariah

;

(j) a representative from among the

Pegawai Masjid

; and

(k) not more than five members appointed by the Majlis.

(2) Two ahli kariah shall be appointed by the Jawatankuasa Kariah as the Financial Examiners for a period according to the appointment of that Jawatankuasa Kariah.

(3) Upon the appointment of the Jawatankuasa Kariah by the Majlis, any committee established to administer any masjid prior to the appointment shall thereby be dissolved. Any committee that operates after the appointment of the Jawatankuasa Kariah commits an offence under these Regulations.
