ASSISTANT REGISTRAR OF MUSLIM MARRIAGES, DIVORCES AND RUJU’ RULES 2013
Rule 4. Qualification of Assistant Registrars
A person nominated by the Pegawai Tadbir Agama shall fulfill the following
conditions:
(a) is a Muslim Male of Mazhab Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah;
(b) is not more than 60 years in age;
(c) resides in the particular kariah masjid;
(d) has sufficient knowledge, in particular of hukum Fiqh bab Munakahat;
(e) is able to read and write jawi and rumi and is able to read the Arabic script;
(f) is a good behavior;
(g) has never been convicted by any competent Court of any criminal offence; and
(h) is a good health and does not suffer from any defect which may affect his physical or mental capacity.
