(ADMINISTRATION OF MOSQUES) RULES 1987
Rule 3. Mosques Committee and Member
Every Masjid Mukim shall constitute a committee named "Mosque's Committee" consisting of:
(1) A Chairman appointed by the Commissioner;
(2) (a) A Secretary appointed by the Commissioner;
(b) An Assistant Secretary if necessary, appointed by the Committee from among the six members under rule 3(4).
(3) A Treasurer appointed by the Commissioner; and
(4) Six members as follows:
(a) Two appointed by the State Government of Terengganu;
(b) One appointed by the President of the Majlis; and
(c) Three elected by the anak mukim concerned.
(5) (a) Every member shall be appointed for a period not exceeding 3 years, unless he tenders his resignation or his appointment is terminated.
(b) A member is eligible for reappointment.
(6) (a) If for any reason a member is not capable or able to carry out his duties or absent during the Committee meeting for three consecutive times without the permission of the Chairman, the member shall be deemed to have vacated his appoinment.
(b) If any member dies, resigns, or is dismissed or deemed to have vacated his appoinment, the vacant appoinment shall be filled up by a newly-appointed person; such appointment shall be made in the same manner as the appointment of the member who vacated the appoinment.
